Art Seen Alliance was psyched to help relaunch the spirit of the legendary Armadillo World Headquarters. Originally open from 1970–1980, the Armadillo became an iconic Austin venue that hosted Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Frank Zappa, Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, ZZ Top, and countless others.
For this three-month activation on South Congress, we fabricated a full retail buildout that brought the Armadillo back to life. Our work included indoor and outdoor signage, custom displays, TV mounts, and a point-of-sale station, setting the stage for what’s to come in 2025 and beyond.
The Armadillo was not just a venue—it was a movement. A true Austin hub for music, art, and mavericks. The return carries that same spirit, with a renewed mission to support local artists, honor the past, and invite the community to help shape the future.
During its pop-up run, the Armadillo hosted 80 live performances, partnered with Austin institutions like Arlyn Studios, BMI, HAAM, and the Austin Film Festival, and raised over $100,000 for the local music community. Every dollar earned was reinvested back into Austin’s artists—proving the Armadillo isn’t just about nostalgia, but about building a stronger future for live music.
We were honored to play a part in bringing this Austin legend back.
